The Rosary at the cemetery in Buk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two elderly women in black appear at the cemetery gate. They go praying the rosary out loud. The atmosphere is getting serious. Others join them. Prayer flows – Hail Mary … Already a whole group of people are standing by the wooden wall of the church, immersed in prayer. The priest came with the vicar. They opened the church of St. Cross, St. Adalbert and St. Mary Magdalene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The faithful took their seats in the center. The prayer continues. Priests are getting ready for the mass. We have a moment to take photos of this monument from the 18th century, which, despite fires and wars, has survived to our times in an almost unchanged condition. It was built on the site of an old wooden church in 1760, funded by Wiktor Raczy\u0144ski, the owner of nearby Wojnowice. The church, built on a Greek cross plan, does not knock down from the outside, but it is enough to cross the threshold to admire the craftsmanship of the builders of that time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vault is topped with a dome with the symbol of the Holy Spirit, the walls of the lantern feature images of saints, and the main altar features a 15th crucifix, believed to be from the old church. Pictures on the vault – interestingly, they are painted on canvas and in frames placed on the ceiling. The smell of wood and the smell of history enhance the specific atmosphere of this place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bell rang at the entrance begins Masha. As it turns out, this is the intention for pilgrims from Buk who died tragically in a coach accident, who together with others went on a pilgrimage to Miedziugorje.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Old churches have their secrets. And this one has her. When during the Second World War it was transformed into a church for the German-speaking Catholic German population, the Soviet front was approaching faster and faster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

German women hid liturgical items in the double wall of the choir and after the war informed one of the inhabitants of the location of these items by letter. Everything has been found. Or maybe not everything. Who knows where the treasures are, because they say that your treasure is where your heart is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
