Yes, it used to be different. The square in front of the church in Rejowiec is empty. Every now and then a car drives along the street. Who would have swarmed the most amazing dreams in the fifteenth century that everything would change in the twenty-first century. Cars, planes, computers, smartphones and tons of other time thieves. First things first. It is 1626, or maybe 1628, or somehow in those years Andrzej Rej (grandson of Miko\u0142aj Rej from Nag\u0142owice) brought settlers from Brandenburg or Pomerania to the village he founded. He built a Protestant church for them. It was probably a larch church. It is small, but it contains all the elements necessary for Protestants. Andrzej, married to a local noblewoman from \u0141abiszyn, Zofia Latalska, traveled extensively. So he took care of his lands and people, so that during his absence the village prospered and people worked for abundant crops. Andrew was the king’s trusted man. On the ruler’s order, he went to European courts to invite the rulers on behalf of the king to the wedding of W\u0142adys\u0142aw IV with princess Cecilia Renata of Habsburg. Perhaps he was even portrayed by the master of chiaroscuro Rembradt (there is still a discussion about this). Andrzej was leaving, he was coming back, the village was developing. She went through various vicissitudes. Poland fell under the partitions. These lands, together with Rejowiec, were taken over by Prussia. In 1820 the church was rebuilt or built on this site, another one is not known for sure. He served the Evangelicals until the Second World War.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1947, the church was consecrated and transformed into a Catholic Church of the Heart of Jesus. It is the only facility of this type in Greater Poland. From the outside, it is an ordinary, tiny, wooden church, and the interior hides the smells of centuries. An interesting fact is the preserved wooden gallery, a great rarity in wooden churches. Silence hides secrets, and the clock chimes the passing seconds of the twenty-first century. You have to bend down when entering through a small door. Walk on the squeaky floor and sit on a bench – reflect on times gone by.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
