Po raz pierwszy wzmiankuje si\u0119 w pismach o Gorzanowie w 1341 roku. Ju\u017c w XIV wieku znajdowa\u0142y si\u0119 tutaj zar\u00f3wno zamek, jak i co najmniej trzy dobra lenne (m.in. Wody te zar\u00f3wno pito, jak i wykorzystywano do k\u0105pieli parowych.
Zwiedzaj\u0105c dzisiaj to co zosta\u0142o ze \u015bwietno\u015bci pa\u0142acu jeste\u015bmy zauroczeni zdobnictwem, fantazj\u0105 w\u0142a\u015bcicieli, sztukator\u00f3w i architekt\u00f3w. W wyobra\u017ani przenosimy si\u0119 do tych czas\u00f3w, o kt\u00f3rych opowiada przewodnik. A tower with a beautiful dome and a clock towers over Gorzan\u00f3w. You get the impression that someone built a town hall in the middle of the village. The palace has over a hundred rooms and three and a half thousand square meters of area. It is a pearl of Lower Silesian architecture, which, of course, miraculously escaped the scourge of history and is now slowly falling into disrepair. Somehow, many of the paintings and beautifully decorated ceilings survived. It was difficult for the paws of destruction to reach the ceiling. Fragments of the original frescoes and paintings have been preserved, covering eleven thousand eight hundred square meters. <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The town was called Arnoldisdorf until around 1670. From 1670 it appears as Grafenort. After 1945 \u2013 Gorzan\u00f3w. Gorzan\u00f3w is first mentioned in writings in 1341. Already in the 14th century, there was a castle here, as well as at least three feudal estates (including Ratschenhof, Moschenhof, Schlosshof), as well as a judgeship and a parish school. This means that it was already a large and important village.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The palace is currently undergoing renovation, but it can be visited after making an appointment by phone. The guides are young people with extensive knowledge and a sense of humor. It’s nice to delve into the history of this place, which is very rich and it is impossible to describe it all in a few words, you have to be there! You can read in detail about the history of the palace – castle on the Internet. I was interested in the story of one of the owners of the estate, Johan Hieronimus von Herberstein. He was a lover of gardens and art. He planted and cared for plants with his own hands and arranged his large gardens. Fascinated by the theater, he set up a stage in his palace in 1816. Charmed by Elonora Petreli, an actress from the Berlin theater, he brought her to Gorzan\u00f3w and, shockingly (for the family), he married her! The actress became the mistress of the Gorzan\u00f3w estate! The theater prospered. The season lasted from September to May. The director was Karl von Holtei – a writer and poet from Wroc\u0142aw. The theater had a dressing room, rich props and a library. Classical plays were performed in which even the local peasantry acted, and even the servants could watch the performances, but only while standing. Apparently, Eleanor spent a fortune on costumes for actors – and probably for herself, which put a huge strain on the household’s finances. Johan died in Gorzn\u00f3w in 1847, and Eleonora continued to rule the palace, which slowly lost its importance. A lot of furniture and ornaments that can still be found in Austrian palaces were taken away. <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Back in the 19th century, Gorzan\u00f3w was one of the largest agricultural and craft towns in the K\u0142odzko County, where two sources of mineral water (acidic and sulphate) were additionally discovered and exploited. These waters were both drunk and used for steam baths.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Today, visiting what is left of the palace’s splendor, we are enchanted by the decorations and imagination of the owners, stucco workers and architects. In our imagination we are transported to the times described by the guide. We see ladies in crinolines walking along the corridors, proud gentlemen, and busy servants. We feel the breeze of art. The tower clock strikes another hour and it’s so hard to get out of here.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
