The beginnings of Lachowice date back to the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries. Casimir Wielki \u200b\u200bwanted to develop these areas and cut his way through the forest to allied Hungary. A castle was built in Lanckorona and the settlement of people in these areas was initiated. However, numerous epidemics decimated the population at that time. The first settlers were the Vlachs who appeared in the 16th century. However, it was not until the 17th century that the village was officially founded by Piotr Komorowski, the owner of the Suskie estate. It was combined from four settlements: Kobylanka, Lubnica, \u0141achowice and M\u0105czna. Lachowice and several neighboring villages formed the so-called the \"Suskie state\", which passed successively into the hands of the Wielopolski, Branicki and Tarnowski families. The most important monument of the village is the wooden church of St. Peter and Paul from 1789. The church in Lachowice represents wooden religious architecture typical for this area of \u200b\u200bPoland, whose style refers to the late Middle Ages, but also has baroque elements. Crystal chandeliers flash with light reflections. Delicate light falls through the windows. Everything delights and speaks in a whisper, gleams with gilding. Here, you need concentration, concentration of the senses, contemplation of the beauty and goodness of the creator. I leave enchanted. I walk through the arcades – Saturdays where the Stations of the Cross are placed.
