Do dzi\u015b w ksi\u0119gach parafialnych w Owi\u0144skach stoi czarno na bia\u0142ym, \u017ce Otto Siegismund von Treskow o\u017ceni\u0142 si\u0119 17.10.1836 w ko\u015bciele parafialnym w Owi\u0144skach z J\u00f3zef\u0105 Kopersk\u0105, prost\u0105 dziewczyn\u0105 z jednej z okolicznych wsi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A misalliance in Biedrusko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first mention of Biedrusko, where the name of the village was written as Besdrofsko, comes from 1388. At that time it was a noble village belonging to the Gowarzewski and Stanis\u0142aw Lubicki family. Like every town in Poland, Biedrusko has its own interesting and turbulent history. It is probably best known for its military training ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We went to the Biedrusko castle, owned by the von Treskow family, famous in Greater Poland. It was built in the years 1877-1880 by the thirty-year-old Albrecht Otto von Treskow. It still exists today. It delights with its interiors, invites guests to hotel rooms and enjoys delicious castle cuisine. http:\/\/www.zamekbiedrusko.pl\/<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While visiting the interior, we met with friendly staff and we can say with real pleasure that it is a visitor-friendly place. We were especially interested in the story of Otto Siegismund von Treskow, who … Everything will be explained after reading, the legends. There is a lot of truth in it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

September was drawing to a close, red carpets of vineyards hung on the fences, the south wind scattered fine birch leaves across the road, lines of maple trees splattered with the yellow paint of autumn stood by the road along which the noble Mr. Otton was driving with his companions for military exercises. Tired of galloping, they were looking for a place to rest. Hooves pounded on the beaten road in Ocieszyna near Oborniki where they were going.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Halt! Otto called, and suddenly he stopped his horse as if he had seen a ghost in the middle of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Halt, halt, halt. One by one the riders shouted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Behind the fence by the well stood the shepherdess J\u00f3zefina with a bucket full of water. She was embarrassed by the sudden arrival of the gentlemen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Give us a drink, girl! Otto abruptly threw when the father of the maiden came out of the shed. He took off his hat and neatly swept the ground with it in front of the noble lords, and the girl in her red hair was standing still at the well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Come on, gentlemen, come on. He was inviting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– J\u00f3zia, live waters for the most distinguished lords!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J\u00f3zia obediently approached as her father said and took it from the bucket with a clay mug. She handed it to Mr. Otto first, and then to the other soldiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Where are you going? The shepherd broke the silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Otto drank with his eyes fixed on Josephine. Her heart pounded like a swallow caught in a snare, unable to get out. The shepherd was talking anxiously about this visit, the gentlemen were talking to J\u00f3zia, and Otto just looked into her blue eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That same evening, he summoned his secretary and ordered him to write a letter to Count Skrzydlewski, requesting the release of J\u00f3zia from serfdom. And, in a week’s time with the entire entourage and an armful of red roses, he fell at her mother’s feet and pleaded for Josephine’s hand. The whole village rumbled with envy. Jan the Shepherd Dog walked proud, though a bit concerned. Is that a good gentleman? He was crazy about his head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the fall of that year, a grand wedding ceremony was held at the palace in Biedrusko. The park is decorated with lanterns, ballrooms full of dancers, rooms occupied by guests, and the servants run and look after everything, serving food and drinks, escorting tired guests to their rooms. Maids can’t keep up with cold compresses. A wedding as it looks!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is what the legend says. The great and rich gentleman fell in love with and married the poor daughter of a shepherd, gave her nobility and educated her, and they probably lived happily ever after, as it happens in fairy tales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To this day, in the parish books in Owi\u0144sakch it is written in black and white that Otto Siegismund von Treskow married on October 17, 1836 in the parish church in Owi\u0144ska with J\u00f3zefa Koperska, a simple girl from one of the nearby villages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
